The food here was average - nothing exceptional. The bartender was very friendly. However, our server paid little attention to us and took forever to return back with our card after giving it to her for payment. There was only one other table with guests at that time in the restaurant, so I would have expected more personalized and attentive service.

My friends and I visit the Boneyard quite frequently for their traditional wing special on Tuesdays. Garlic Buffalo and the Cajun Dry Rub are among my favorite flavors, but my group has favorites across the board. Bangbang is great too, but I'm on a low carb diet so I've stayed away from any sweet sauces lately. Wings are a great size and flavor in comparison to other places in the area. I highly recommend them.

Literally Bad For Your Health! I worked at the Boneyard in Sussex since July of 2015 up until very recently. At first I started as a server, but I had prior experience working with food at a Jimmy Johns where I managed for about a year, so they asked if I could pick up hours in the kitchen. Slowly I gravitated towards working in the kitchen for the steady wage instead of relying on tips from customers who were too often pissed off at the slow ticket times and mediocre food.
Fast forward to July 8th 2016 when the owner (Jim Jones) decided to fire the kitchen manager without any sort of plan after that. For the last 6 months there has been nobody to be held responsible for what goes on in the kitchen. I was the only employee with my food handling certification in the establishment. Instead of promoting somebody from the kitchen or even hiring outside help to manage he just let us go rogue and put the general manager in charge of ordering the food from 4 different vendors. On top of all the rest she does for business. (Without her the doors would have closed along time ago) So naturally some items get overlooked and we had to tell customers we didn't have it or we would come up with what we could, not worrying about being consistent. I sat down with Jim, the owner, on multiple occasions expressing my concerns about the direction the business was going but have not seen any changes because his professional fishing career clearly is his priority.

Now it has been 6 FULL months that they haven't had a manager designated to the kitchen. What's one thing managers make there employees do because they won't do them otherwise? The answer is CLEAN. The kitchen which was once relatively clean (not even close to a corporate kitchen like Jimmy Johns) but it still wasn't terrible. Let's just say now I wouldn't bring my family there knowing the state of the kitchen.

The thing about the Boneyard in Sussex is the employees they have there are extremely hard workers and will do any task that is given to them. But it sadly all starts at the top with the ownership. He is content with making money at his other location in Mukwonago and barely skimming by in Sussex.

With all that being said there are plenty of restaurants in Sussex that could use your business just look around the corner. There is Rumors, Tailgators, or even the Sussex place. I'm sure they would enjoy your business a little bit more, and plus it might leave the employees at the Boneyard time to hopefully do a little more cleaning because lord knows they need it!
